Written to be read rather than to be impressive, and not yet reviewed by a solicitor. If you are relying on it for something that matters, say so and it will be looked at properly.
What this is
TallClip turns a topic you type into a vertical video: a script, a voiceover, footage, captions and music, assembled into a file you can download and post.

Your account
You need an account to make videos, and you are responsible for what happens under it. One account per person. Tell us if you think someone else has got into it.
Credits
Work is paid for in credits. Writing a script, generating a voiceover, finding footage and rendering each cost credits, and the app shows the cost before you spend it. Credits are not money and cannot be exchanged for money. Credits you don't use stay in your account and carry over to the next month for as long as your account is open.
Yearly plans are paid once a year. Their credits and their monthly AI video allowance still arrive each month, on the day of the month you joined.
If a render fails, its credits go back automatically. If you ask for AI-generated images and stock photographs are delivered instead, the difference is refunded automatically.
Invite credits: someone who creates a new account through your invite link gets bonus credits, and you get credits once they first pay for credits or a plan. One reward per person invited. Invite credits are not given for your own accounts, and ones gained by misuse (for example, fake or duplicate accounts) can be removed. If the purchase that earned an invite reward is refunded or disputed, the reward can be taken back.
Affiliates: if you join the affiliate programme, you earn a one-off reward for each person you invite who keeps a paid plan, instead of invite credits. The affiliate terms are at tallclip.com/affiliates and form part of these terms for anyone who joins.
Refunds
Credits start working the moment you buy them, and you agree to that when you pay. Because of that, credits you have used are not refundable, and the right to cancel a digital purchase within 14 days ends once you start using them.
Unused credits from a top-up bought in the last 30 days can be refunded: you get back the unused share of what you paid (use a fifth of a £20 top-up and £16 comes back). Ask from the contact page; each request is checked and then refunded to your card. Free credits (the sign-up bonus, adverts, invites) have no cash value and are counted as used last. A monthly plan can be cancelled at any time and stops at the end of the month already paid for; that month is not refunded once any of its credits have been used.
If something went wrong on our side, the credits come back automatically (see above). If anything else seems wrong, email us first — it is almost always quicker than going to your bank.
If a payment is refunded or reversed, the credits it bought are taken back, even if that leaves a negative balance. If a payment is disputed with your bank (a chargeback), the account is also put on hold — nothing can be bought or made — until the dispute is settled. We show the bank the record of what the credits were used for.
The videos you make
They are yours. Use them commercially, post them anywhere, keep them after you stop using this.
The footage and music come from stock libraries and public archives, and some is licensed on condition that its creator is credited. Where that is the case the app says so before rendering, marks the shot, and gives you the exact line to paste. Posting without that credit is a breach of the licence by you, not by us — which is why "no credit needed" exists and is the default.
AI visuals and music may come from TallClip's shared library and are not exclusive to your video.
Anything you upload
Stays yours. What you upload to use in your own videos stays private to your account: it is not shared with other people using the app, and it is not used to train anything. What you upload on the Upload for credits page (/contribute) is different - it is offered to other people through the Creation Library (below). Videos you make with TallClip - the scripts and the pictures chosen, with how they did - help improve TallClip's own model only if you say yes; it is off unless you do, and you can change it any time in your account menu, under Account settings (see the privacy policy). Only upload things you own or have permission to use — a picture found through a search engine is usually neither.
The Creation Library
The Creation Library lets people reuse AI pictures and moving AI clips made on TallClip, and pictures and clips uploaded for it, in their own videos. By using TallClip you agree that the AI pictures and clips made for your videos go into the Creation Library, where other people can use them in their videos and license them, and you earn each time one is used (below). This is part of how TallClip works and can't be switched off. Never put in the Library: anything showing a real person's face, anything made for a Remake or a parody, your series characters, and uploads you haven't registered as your own. Anything already in someone else's video stays there, under the same terms as when it was used.
When someone else uses your creation you earn TallClip credits, under the rules shown on Your creations & earnings. Everything you earn - Library uses, licences, brand deals, affiliate rewards and Earn credits - is paid as credits at their full value (see Credits above), or - where cash payouts are offered - in money to your bank through Stripe at half the credits' value, once you have set up a Stripe account and that comes to the minimum shown. Stripe checks who you are and holds your identity and bank details; TallClip does not. Each cash payout is checked before it is sent, and you are responsible for any tax on what you earn. Only upload for the library things you own or have the right to license this way.
Each picture and clip in the Library is also kept on the permanent public record as a smaller, encrypted copy that only TallClip's key can open - proof of what was made, and by whom, that can't be altered. Keeping it is part of what you already pay; there is no extra charge. When an item is removed from the Library or its file is deleted, its key is destroyed and that copy can never be opened again.
You can also offer your own art style (from pictures you made) and your own video ideas through the Contributor studio. You confirm they are your own work and don't copy a franchise, studio, brand or another artist; a franchise's style is only added by its rights holder. Others pay a small price, shown before they use it, and you earn the share shown in the studio. You can withdraw them at any time; videos already made keep them.
Library licences
Pictures and clips in the TallClip Library are shown with a TallClip watermark. Using one inside a video you make on TallClip is charged per use. To use one anywhere else you buy a licence, which lets you download it without the watermark. The maker keeps ownership; the licence gives you, the person or company that bought it, the right to use it as follows, worldwide and for as long as you like.
Standard licence: use it in your own work - websites, social media, adverts, videos, presentations and print. You may not sell or give away the file itself, offer it in another library, or put it on products made for sale (for example T-shirts, mugs, posters or templates). Extended licence: everything the Standard licence allows, and it may go on products made for sale and be used across your whole company or for your clients. Neither licence lets you claim you made it, use it in a way that is unlawful, defamatory or misleading, or use it to train an AI model.
Each licence has a certificate at its own address that anyone can check. Its maker receives 70% of the price. If a licence is refunded, or a picture has to be withdrawn (for example because it turns out to show a real person or a brand that doesn't allow it), the licence ends and you must stop new uses of it.
Brand deals
If you turn brand deals on, a brand's product may be drawn in place of an ordinary object in one picture of a video (for example a drink or a phone) - never in a picture with children. The video is labelled as including paid placement when TallClip posts it, and you must keep that label if you post it yourself. You receive the share of the brand's payment shown on Your creations & earnings. You can turn brand deals off at any time; videos already made keep their placement.
Saving a video forever
"Save forever" encrypts a finished video and writes it, in pieces, to a permanent public record - a public ledger copied by computers around the world and kept for good. Once written it can't be changed, taken down or deleted, by you, by us or by anyone, so only save something you are sure you want kept permanently, and only something you have the right to keep (the same rules as everything else you make here apply).
The pieces are unreadable without the key in your link. We keep a copy of that key in your account so you can find the link again in My videos; if your account is closed, or you ask us to, we delete our copy and only links you have kept will open it. Anyone you give the link to can watch and save the video. The price is shown before you agree and pays for writing it to that public record; it is free on the Diamond plan. If it can't be saved, the credits go back. That public record is not run by us and may in future become harder to read; we can't promise it will always be readable, only that it was written and can't be altered.
Remake: putting real faces into videos
Remake puts a face into a video or a made-up scene. You may only use your own face, or the face of someone who gave their consent in the app by recording themselves saying so. You may not use a photo of anyone, and you may not use the face of a public figure or celebrity, or of anyone under 18. Your own TallClip characters and our AI actors are fine.
Nothing sexual, nude, degrading, violent or humiliating involving a real person, and nothing that could pass as a real event, a crime or something they really said or did. Only remake videos you made or have the rights to, your TallClip videos, or library clips - not films, TV or broadcasts. Every Remake is labelled as AI, with a visible mark and in the file, and you must not remove or hide that label or post a Remake as real.
Someone who gave consent can withdraw it at any time, and their face then can't be used again. Breaking these rules means the Remake is removed and the account is banned, without a refund. To report a Remake of you, email support@tallclip.com.
What not to make
Nothing unlawful. Nothing that harasses or impersonates a real person (a clearly labelled parody, below, is not impersonation). Nothing sexual involving children, and nothing designed to deceive people about a real event, election or emergency. Accounts doing any of that are closed without a refund.
Public-figure parody
Where it is switched on, Remake can put a well-known public figure's face into a video as a parody. You may make jokes, dances, songs and absurd scenes about them. You may not make anything a reasonable viewer could take as real: fake news reports, press conferences or announcements; claims put in their mouth about money, crypto, investing, elections or crimes; endorsements of a product, coin or website; or anything using a real news brand. Nothing sexual, violent, cruel or hateful, and nobody under 18 or who is not a public figure.
Every parody shows "AI PARODY" on the video, carries a hidden watermark, says in its description who it shows and that they did not take part, and is recorded with the account that made it. You are responsible for what you make and where you post it, and you must not remove or hide the label. Anyone can report a parody from its page; one reported by the person in it, or as misleading, sexual or hateful, is taken down straight away while it is looked at, and the account that made it may be closed. A public figure can ask never to be used again by emailing us.
Public figures in AI pictures
When a video is about a well-known public figure and no free real photo of them fits, TallClip may draw them with AI. Those videos show "AI" on screen, carry a hidden watermark, are flagged as AI-made when posted, and say in the description who is shown and that they did not take part. The same limits as a parody apply: no fake news or claims presented as real, no endorsements of a product, coin or website, nothing sexual, degrading, violent or hateful, nobody under 18, and nobody who is not widely known. Requests that break these are refused or rewritten before anything is charged. Anyone can report such a video, and a public figure can ask never to be drawn again by emailing us.
What can go wrong
Scripts are written by a language model and can be confidently wrong. Check anything factual before you post it. Footage is matched automatically and sometimes matches the wrong thing; any shot can be swapped in the editor and the video made again. You only pay for what changed, and it is a free re-do if a third or more of the shots are wrong (see "Pictures came out wrong?" under a finished video for the conditions).
The service can be unavailable, and providers it depends on can fail. Where that costs you credits, the credits come back. Beyond that, liability is limited to what you have paid in the previous month.
Ending it
Stop whenever you like. A paid plan can be cancelled at any point and runs to the end of the period already paid for. Ask and your account and its data will be deleted.
Changes
These terms will change as the product does. The date at the top says when, and anything materially affecting what you have paid for will be said in the app rather than only here.
